Wines

Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres is situated among the wellknown wine-growing area Lirac. The winegrowers here have the tradition of about 2000 years in common, because wine was already grown in Roman times. (Unfortunately it is not secured that Hannibal's elephants already appreciated the wine but they passed here...)
In the past centuries the wine won a high recognition by the aristocracy. Even then there was a great importance attached to quality, it was manifested in the "Appelation Lirac Controlée" at the end of the fourties.

The "Lirac rouge" is a robust, balanced and long lasting red wine with a great elegance. The "Lirac blanc" is considered as fine and fruity, stimulating and fresh; the "Lirac rosé" is distinguished by its smoothness and character. Few kilometres from Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, lays Tavel, where the most famous rosé of France is pressed. At the left side of the Rhone, not far away, you will find the Châteauneuf-du-Pape - wine experts will prick their ears. These red wines are worldwide famous!
At your excursions, you will have many possibilities to try it and to enrich your wine cellar with noble wines.
